Adding Tasks to the Project
WizzTime gives you two ways to add the Tasks to the Project. You can add them in bulk using either “Import MPP” feature or you can add one by one Task using the “Add Task” feature.
Adding multiple Tasks using bulk upload
This feature is useful for the Managers to add the Tasks in bulk to the Project. You can simply create a Microsoft Project file and import it under a specific Project. All Tasks will get added at a time to that Project.
To add the Tasks, first, you have to select a “Client” and a “Project” to whom you want to add the Tasks.
Click on the “Client” drop down and select a Client.
Once you have selected a Client, click on the “Project” drop down and select a specific Project.
To add the Tasks using bulk upload, click on “Import MPP” button, and it will ask you to select the MPP file you want to import. Choose your MPP file and click on “Open”. Now, the WizzTime starts the importing process.
Once the importing process completed, the Tasks imported from the MPP file will be shown in the Task list as below.
If you already added a Task using “Add Task” button, you can not import the Tasks using MPP file.
Adding a single Task
To add a single Task, click on “Add Task” button and the “Add Task” popup will be opened. Enter a “Task” under “Title” and select the Start Date and End Date for a Task.
WizzTime will automatically calculate the Estimated Hours based on the date range you have selected for a Task.
Fill the remaining details. You can add a description for a Task under “Notes” if any. Once you enter all the details and click on the “Add Task” button, the Task will be added to a Project.
You can see a Task you have added in the Task list as shown below.
By enabling this option you can see only those tasks which are either created by you or assigned to you.
You can add the child Task by clicking on the “+” icon. Similarly, you can Edit, Delete and Copy a Task by clicking on the respective icons as shown in the picture below.

You can delete the Task by clicking on the “Delete” icon shown in the Action column of a Task.
Once you click on the “Delete” icon, WizzTime asks you to confirm this action. Once you confirm it, a Task will be deleted permanently.
If you are deleting any Task which has child Tasks, then WizzTime will delete all of its child Tasks too.
You can not delete a Task which has Worked Hours recorded for it.
You can not delete the Task If the Task State is in Closed or Pending For Approval (PFA) State.
If one or more Rules are assigned to the selected task. Deleting the task will also delete the rules.
